New Crochet Scarf Idea

So I have been playing with an idea, I been crocheting a scarf in my down times and as I am an idea hits me. Why not add embroidery patches to the end of the scarf. So here are a few just sitting on top of one of the ends of the scarf.

Clay Play

Last week on Facebook we posted a sneak peek of some unpainted clay projects. Well since that day I hadnt worked much on them. I have been in a funk. Since Last Saturday I started having hard times sleeping at night. I did everything from chamomile tea to working out longer and harder. Nothing worked. I was growing irritated each day with lack of sleep.




I dont like working on projects when I get like this. Then starting Thursday Night pain everywhere. I spent the whole weekend under pain medication and finally catching up on lost sleep.  Today I finally feel better enough to finish off those projects. Now some of them my kids painted and I did the rest.




First I made our own Polymoreclay using this recipe.
Then a few days letter the kids started painting.

Here are the ones I did 

I will do better shots later today once the clear coat dries.

New Adventure: Screen Printing

Thats right, we have started to do screen printing!
It has been full of trial and error but we have finally found a method that works for us!

Ordination Sash

I have been working on a Ordination Sash for our Co-Owner Magus Ed.
I am using Black satin and muslin as the interfacing.

The patches is from our supplier, I would have made our own but alas I do not owen an embroidery machine yet. One day I will but for now these patches will do. I am hand embroidering two different designs at the bottom the side with the Gold trim is a silver Triquetra, on the Silver side will be a gold Triscale.
I am embroidering from the reverse side as transferring a design onto black is difficult with traditional methods.  It should be a great pice once its finished and Custom Options will be available on our website in the future.

On Sunday evening I had finished the embroidery work, which means I am on schedule for once. I predict it will be finished by Tuesday. Enjoy the update pics of my progress :)

Busy Times

Wow lets shake the dust off of this blog! We have been super busy with Life that we just had nothing to update about. That Is all about to change. I have had so many projects going on that I just hadnt time to write a whole lot.
I have been working on Videos for TheCUPWA, Working on Updating our Store, Getting Ready for the kids to be out of school for the summer, Planting in our garden, Making new things for the store, Looking for a new Home (still hoping it will come true).
I seam to be all over the place lol!
I am working on some new posts one on The Flower Moon and on The upcoming MidSummer Holiday also known as Litha. Just busy busy.

New Projects for the shop: Hand made Book Of Shadows, Wooden covers with your choice of wood burned design. The Binding will be with Leather Cording and you will be able to add or remove pages from the book. It will come with 30 blank parchment paper and with close to 100 printed BOS pages on Parchment that will cover over a wide range of subjects and will have Divider pages.

New Beaded Necklaces and Amulet Bags: I have a few Egyptian collars and a few amulet bags nearly completed for your viewing pleasure, keep an eye out for these.

Celebrating Imbolic Aka Brigits Day or Candalmas

Not common to all Pagans, this is very popular with Wiccans and various Celtic sects. Brigid is the Celtic goddess of fire and inspiration (Poetry, smithcraft and healing) as well as yet another representation of the Fertility of Femininity and Love. Brigid had such a strong following among the Celtics that the Christian church decided it was easier to assimilate her into their own system, and so there came about the making of Saint Brigit and all the stories they created about her so that her followers would leave their old beliefs enough so they would not side with the Druids, who were known at that time as 'the snakes' because of their tendency to have tamed snakes that were used to help produce various healing mixtures via their venom, and who were violently opposing the Catholic church. In History, of course, the druids lost against the overwhelming odds presented by the church, led by a man who would then be himself sainted by the church, their Saint Patrick (who was no clergyman but a warrior). Thus Christian rule of various sorts came into Ireland. Handcrafts are often sacrificed to Brigid or dedicated to her as they are started on this day. Its celebration is done with many candles and as usual much feasting. The Christians also took, moved slightly and used this date by creating St. Valentine and using the day for one of chaste love reflections. Imbolc marks the recovery of the Goddess after birth of the God. The warmth of the power of the God fertilizes the Earth and so the earliest beginnings of spring occur. This is a sabbat of purification, a festival of light and fertility. Tis also a traditional time for initiations into covens and self-dedication rituals. Also known as: Feast of Pan, Feast of Torches, Oimelc.

Cast Those Runes

If You go to our ArtFire Shop or to our main website you will see our listing like this:

"Made from natural oak branches with bark still on them. Each rune is specially burnt with the Futhark symbol, with 25 runes in each set including the blank rune. Only natural stain (linseed oil) is used to cure the runes, no varnish or unnatural substances. The branches are tempered by the elements of fire, water, earth, air, and time. Each set of runes is cut from the same branch in order to assure continuity. The magic of the oak is well placed in the cultures of Nordic, Wiccan, Druidic traditions. Each rune is wood burned into the wood.

Each set is OOAK!"

The Story behind these runes is simple. Last Year during Hurricane Ike (i think it was Ike) we had lots of fallen trees and one of them was a young Oak tree. We decided instead of burning it to cut it into pieces and use those pieces for other things. We are still working with it but so far we have done up some Rune Sets. We do Plan to do Alter tiles and many other things. It just will take some time.

Another Website Update!

It seams we are doing a lot of updating late lol. We have added some more items on our site some familiar some New!

Many are concerned that we might be leaving Etsy, This is not true. We will always have items in Our etsy shop. We are now using Our Etsy shop for our One Of A Kind items and those items we get from our suppliers. We are and always use etsy for our hand made items (even purchases!). Our website allows us to inter grade many of the famous check out systems without having to manually send invoices.
Although for now we use mostly PayPal, Google Checkout and Money Orders we do plan to have many other payment options available. Our goal is to make your shopping as smoothly and convenient for you as much as possible without losing our personal touch. We thank all who has asked us and we have no plans to shut our Etsy Shop anytime soon.
